Broadway’s Amazing Grace returns in 2026 as a youth-focused production for schools, universities, community theaters, and more. The show will premiere at The King's Academy in West Palm Beach, Florida, in September 2026. It will be filmed for global streaming, accompanied by a behind-the-scenes docuseries titled “Journey of Grace,” which explores how the show is being reimagined by young people, for young people.
Broadway’s Amazing Grace remains the only Broadway musical ever to portray a true story of personal salvation on stage. It tells the astonishing life story of John Newton, a teenager swept into the slave trade of the 1740s, whose transformation from cynical atheist to abolitionist and author of the world’s most beloved hymn—Amazing Grace—continues to resonate across generations.
Written by our founder, Christopher G. Smith, the show premiered on Broadway in 2015, where it played 117 performances before launching a national tour. The production reached 52 cities and enjoyed a year-long run at the Museum of the Bible in Washington, D.C.
Now, ten years later, the show returns in a brand-new form—with songs and story elements never seen by audiences before.
“There were spiritual elements and character development that never made it to the Broadway stage. I will work with the young people to bring these back—and create a powerful new youth-focused production.”
